1שלא יאכל תושב כהן ושכיר תרומה - שלא יאכל תושב כהן ושכיר תרומה, שנאמר (ויקרא כב י) תושב כהן ושכיר לא יאכל קדש.
That the boarder of a priest and the hired worker not eat priestly tithe: That the boarder of a priest and the hired worker not eat priestly tithe, as it is written (Leviticus 22:10), “the boarder of a priest and the hired worker may not eat the holy.”
2שרש המצוה וכל ענינה נכלל במצוה הקודמת, כי טעם אסורן מפני שנחשבו כמו זר אחר שאינו קנין כספו, כי התושב הוא שכיר עולם, והשכיר הוא שכיר שנים (עי' יבמות ע א).
The root of the commandment and all of its content is included in the previous commandment, since the reason for their prohibition is that they are considered like “foreigners,” since he is not his acquired property — as “the boarder” is the perennial worker, and “the hired worker” is the annual worker. (See Yevamot 70a.)
