To not eat chamets (leavened grain products) on Pesach: To not eat chamets on Pesach, as it is stated (Exodus 13:3), “no chamets shall be eaten.”
That which we have written about the other commandments of Pesach is from the roots of this commandment.
The laws of the commandment — for example, which are the things that are forbidden because of chamets and they are five types of grain; the law of kneading with fruit juice; the law of soaking [grain kernels]; a cooked food within which chamets is found, while it is hot or while it is cold; and the rest of its details — are [all] elucidated in Pesachim 35 (See Tur, Orach Chaim 446-468.)
And [it] is practiced in every place and at all times by males and females. And one who transgresses it and volitionally eats a kazayit of chamets on Pesach is liable for excision. [And if it is] inadvertent, he is obligated [to bring] a fixed sin-offering.
