TL;DR: We collect the minimum needed to make the app work. Your sheet music, setlists, recordings, and voice notes stay yours. We never sell your data. You can delete everything anytime.
1. What We Collect
When you use JG Music Tools (web, Windows, Android, Mac, iOS), we may collect:
- Account info: email address + display name when you create an account
- Content: sheets you upload, setlists you build, recordings you save
- Technical: browser/OS type, IP address (anonymized after 30 days), error reports
- Microphone audio: only when you tap Record (Tuner, Recorder, Voice Notes). Audio is sent to your own cloud storage on our servers — never to third parties for advertising
- Payment info: processed by Stripe — we never see card numbers
2. How We Use It
- To run the app — your sheets need to live somewhere
- To sync your data across devices
- To respond to your support questions
- To fix bugs (anonymized error logs)
3. What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your data to anyone, ever
- We don't show ads
- We don't track you across other websites
- We don't share recordings or sheets with anyone unless you choose to share a link
4. Your Rights
- Export: download all your data anytime from /app/account.php
- Delete: nuke your entire account + all data with one click
- Correct: edit anything in your account settings
- EU users: full GDPR rights — contact us
- California users: full CCPA rights — contact us
5. Microphone & Camera
The app requests microphone access ONLY when you tap a record button (Tuner, Recorder, Voice Notes, Multi-Track). Audio recordings are saved to your own cloud storage and you control who sees them. Camera access is not used.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If we learn we have data from a child, we'll delete it.
7. Storage Location
Data is stored on IONOS servers in Pennsylvania, USA. Backups are encrypted. Payments processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1).
8. Third Parties
We use: Stripe (payments), Google OAuth (sign-in option), Anthropic Claude API (optional AI features — anonymized). Each has their own privacy policy.

10. Changes
If we update this policy, we'll show a banner in the app for 30 days before changes take effect. Material changes get an email.
